Detox is something happening all the time within our bodies.
However, sometimes the body needs a bit of help to make sure the detox processes are working to keep the body working as well as possible. This extra help might just be the thing you need – this is where Herbal Detox comes in.
Eating excessive meat, plenty of starchy food, smoking, drinking alcohol, too much tea and coffee all act to increase the toxins produced by the body. An occasional Herbal Detox – ideally for at least 30 days – will help to clear this toxic load and help us keep well.
Even better is to improve our lifestyle so that the toxins reduce. This will help us to feel better day to day; it will also reduce the possibility of degenerative disease – including diabetes, arthritis, stomach problems, Alzheimer’s, obesity, heart disease and some cancers.
This might be helped by improving diet – along the lines suggested in the detox article; by taking more rest, exercisin more or aiming to counteract stress.
Our diet often holds the key to detox – and that is something which can be controlled from home.
Make a large salad every now and again and make it last over several days. Keep in airtight containers in the fridge to keep it fresh That way there is always a salad at hand, whether it’s to eat at home or to grab one take to work. You only need to add a can of sardines or some hummus to make an acceptable and quick meal.
Causes Of Attention Deficit Disorder In Adolescents And Adults

Attention Deficit Disorder or “ADD†is has become a familiar diagnosis among youth and grown-ups alike. Once believed to only be a pediatric condition, additional cases are turning up in grown-ups. In this article, you will be introduced to the causes, common symptoms, and treatment options.
Causes
The exact cause for ADD is not yet known; yet, one of the leading components that seem to play a large role in the beginning stages of this state is from genetics. It is speculated that genes have a specific level of control over the chemicals that scientists refer to as “neurotransmittersâ€.
One actual chemical in the brain has received a lot of attention recently and it seems to be a familiar sign among those with ADD. This chemical is known as “Dopamineâ€. It has been revealed that when there are low or excess amounts of this chemical present, an individual is more likely to endure ADD.
Other issues connected with Attention Deficit Disorder may include environmental conditions and complications during pregnancy. If you, or your child, has been diagnosed with this condition, it is vital to work closely with a doctor in order to determine the underlying cause. If a cause cannot be revealed, it is important to work with a knowledgeable medical professional on treatments in order to soothe the symptoms of ADD.
Symptoms
There are a lot of symptoms that may be prevalent in people that have Attention Deficit Disorder. The symptoms for ADD are usually broken down into three, distinct categories: impulsivity, attention issues, and hyperactivity.
Impulsivity
• Many have a high level of intolerance.
• Many will blurt out comments and answers at unsuitable times – like before a question has been completely asked, or when someone else is talking.
• Many take on manners and undertakings that are thought to be chancy or unsafe.
Attention Issues
• Many have trouble focusing at school or at work.
• Many are very disorganized and heel dragging may become evident.
• Many may discover that they are unable to remember details such as, events, obligations, and commitments.
Hyperactivity
• Many are not able to sit or stand in one location for an extended amount of time.
• Many may take on continual talking, swiftly switching from one topic to the next with no effort.
• Many have difficulty when it comes to engaging in quiet and sedentary activities.
Treatment
Today, there are many ways to treat Attention Deficit Disorder. These methods include prescription medications, behavioral therapy, and natural remedies. There are drugs that are considered to be “stimulants†that work to soothe the symptoms of the condition. Examples include Concerta, Focalin, and Ritalin. Non-stimulant medications include Effexor, Wellbutrin, and Pamelor. Natural remedies include the implementation of a low sugar diet, Melatonin or even music/sound therapy. If you or a loved one has Attention Deficit Disorder, it is important to work closely with a doctor on the optimum treatment for each unique situation that is being experienced.
As you can see, Attention Deficit Disorder is a widespread, yet complex condition. becoming educated on the symptoms and the potential causes of the condition can help you gain a more thorough understanding of ADD. Working closely with a doctor can help you learn what therapies are available, and how to incorporate them into a treatment plan that will be effective for you, and/or your loved one.
Western Science Vs Complementary Medicine And Aura Healing

It seems a little unusual that the forms of medicine that have been around for several millennia are called “alternative” and modern western medicine, which has only be around for a few hundred years, is called “traditional”. Typically, the reaction to that is to say that western medicine is based on science and other forms of medicine are not. That idea is simply not true. The fact is that Chinese Medicine, as one example, has been practiced and documented for over two thousand years. The important idea here is “documented” because that indicates that the Chinese created theories of medicine, tested those theories, and documented what worked and what didn’t. That’s what the scientific method is all about. You don’t have to have all kinds of electronic gizmos to be scientific. Isaac Newton didn’t have those gizmos either.
One of the biggest differences between alternative medicine and modern western medicine is that the holistic forms include the theory of the human aura energy. A lot of people say that the human aura energy is a lot of hocus pocus and isn’t scientific, but, in fact, it does fit nicely with the most up to date thinking in western science.
Historically, humans are like ostriches when it comes to forms of energy. If they don’t see it, then it doesn’t exist. People often deny the validity of energy they don’t understand or give it mystical properties. Now we are aware of electromagnetic, gravitational, and nuclear forces and the attempt has been underway for some time to unify all of these different forms of energy into a unified field theory. Given our history of incredible discovery it is only arrogance to assume that today we have discovered every form of energy and everything else there is to discover.
Most people are familiar with science from the Newtonian point of view. That is typically taught in high school and the first year of college. We’re taught that planets are like giant marbles moving around in space and being acted upon by forces like gravity and collisions. It’s the viewpoint of sort of a cosmic marble ring. That point of view was also reflected in early atomic theory. I’m sure you’re familiar with the billiard ball theory of electrons orbiting around a nucleus made of protons and neutrons.
Well, all that changed around 1920 when Erwin Schrodinger demonstrated that electrons, protons, and neutrons could also be thought of as waves. About the same time Albert Einstein came up with his now famous equation E=MC2 relating matter to energy. These two events dramatically changed physics because it shifted scientific thinking from a rigid, static marble viewpoint to a vibrational, possibility viewpoint… but this different way of looking at the world is not generally known because it’s typically not taught until the second year of college physics and chemistry.
Since Schrodinger and Einstein there has been a constant effort to discover the most fundamental building blocks of the universe. Today, string theory is the leading edge of theoretical physics. In essence, this theory says that the basic building blocks are inconceivably small vibrations. The theory investigates the properties and energetic interactions of these most subtle multi-dimensional vibrations… and it’s those properties and interactions that ultimately create denser and denser matter until atoms, molecules, TVs, and people come into being. So the scientists are saying that vibrations are the beginning of everything.
That is precisely the viewpoint found in Chinese Medicine and other forms of holistic energy medicine. Chinese Medicine calls the fundamental building energy of the universe Qi. This energy manifests in denser and denser forms and varieties to eventually form the world and human beings. In a sense, modern science is catching up to the basic theories of oriental medicine, yoga, and the martial arts that have been around for thousands of years.

You No longer have to settle for conventional medicine and its predictability, nor do you need to worry any longer about all the side effects of prescription drugs. There are other approaches that you may be unaware of, and they are called complimentary and alternative medicine.
Complementary and Alternative medicine (also known by the abbreviation CAM) has been around for a long time. Many of their practices come from other parts of the world. These two techniques each use the same types of treatments to bring you back to robust good health. But, there are differences in how they are used.
Generally, alternative medicine has been practiced in lieu of conventional medicine. Complementary medicine uses the many types of alternative medicine along with conventional medicine. You can be in charge of your own health decisions, yet still listen to the advice of your doctor when you decide to take the complementary and alternative medicine route.
Health centers and traditional hospitals are now incorporating alternative medicine into their available services. it is not uncommon for a doctors visit to include some type of recommendation for alternative therapies like chiropractic treatments for back pain.
A recent survey by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has found an increase in the use of holistic practices with complementary and alternative medicine being used by adults and the children who live in their households. What we are seeing is a trend towards alternative medicine even with adults that have medical insurance coverage.
There are many examples of complementary medicine that probably everyone has tried at least once. Taking a daily multi vitamin can be considered a form of complementary medicine, as you use it along with whatever regular treatments you receive from your doctor. This is a mild form of complementary medicine that would almost always meet with your doctor’s approval.
It is a comforting thought to know that by using complementary and conventional medicine, you have chosen to do something to safeguard your health, all on your own.
Exercising and eating healthy foods are just some of the things a person can do to live a life that is healthy and free from disease. You may have herd the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Avoiding nasty habits like smoking and drinking alcohol is another way to prolong life as well as to improve overall health.
Other than these, taking alternative healing supplements can also make a person healthier because these supplements will clear away the many built up toxins that are present in your body.
There are holistic medicines that help promote the removal of toxins in the body, the renewal of skin cells and the flushing out of harmful substances like cholesterol and fat.
There are also supplements that improve your emotional and mental well-being through the relaxing properties that are used in the supplements.
Since stress is known to be one of the major factors that can cause a person to become sick, the use of stress relieving supplements is a important part of a natural health regimen that can keep a person healthy and fit.
Clear Dreaming And Emotional Intensity

We spend a third of our lives asleep, and half of that is spent dreaming. Many say that lucid dreams are the perfect answer to winning back those “squandered” hours. But lucid dreaming scholars would never claim that ordinary dreams are unimportant. Rather, lucid dreams can be seen as opportunities to deepen the work that is already being done in our usual nightly adventures in dreamworld.
conscious dreaming is the art of being aware in the dream state. Even though many assume that lucid dreaming means you can control your dream, this is actually only a wish of beginner lucid dreamers. Instead, the advanced art of clear dreaming is about learning how to focus attention, intentionality, and modulate the powerful emotions that are often present. It is especially difficult to control your emotions in the lucid dream state, because fears and other intense feelings quickly come to the fore in lucid dreams.
That’s why there is so much focus on dream control: in order to defend against these powerful emotions. Scholars of dream science suggest that being aware in dreams is an opportunity to face fully those strong emotions that appear in the dream, instead of using awareness to shut the emotions down. No wonder dream control sounds so tempting! Awareness is a powerful force, but it can easily be used in defense of self-knowledge. Many cultures use clear dreaming as a healing practice, and harnessing the emotional substrate of the dream is a key part of the training. To sum it up, focusing on self-control is the best way to learn about the gift of awareness during dreams.
Is Lucid Dreaming Right For You?

We spend one third of our lives asleep, but what if that time was put to good use? This is the promise of lucid dreaming, or consciously being aware of the dream state. When you are lucid dreaming, there are opportunities to explore not only the dream, but also your foundations of reality.
Once thought to be the territory of only mystics and yogis, now we know that lucid dreaming can be learned by almost anyone. The most important factor is for potential lucid dreamers to have a strong intention to learn, or they will be disappointed. Having said this, here are some things to consider if conscious dreaming is right for you.
One of the most important factors for learning conscious dreaming is having good dream recall. After all, how can you become aware you are dreaming if you don’t even remember your dreams in the first place? Luckily, remembering dreams is also a learnable skill for most people; all it takes is some patience, and a journal beside the bed to capture dream fragments after waking up. This is the first connection of many between the waking world and the dreaming world that needs to be made in order to succeed at lucid dreaming.
Next, it is a fact that most excellent lucid dreamers have a better-than-average sense of balance. Vestibular activity plays a big role in consciousness, whether we are dreaming or awake. Therefore, beginners will have better luck learning to lucid dream if they also have an ongoing exercise practice that develops their balance. Some examples are yoga, tai chi, gymnastics, and the martial arts.
Lastly, the beginners who will have the greatest success are those who also are working on becoming more conscious in their daily lives. There are lots of ways to build brain power during the day, such as gardening, having a meditation practice, playing competitive sports, and board games like Scrabble or Risk. Lucid dreaming isn’t for everyone, but if you can remember your dreams, develop your body’s balance, and keep a mind-development regime, you will easily find success in becoming aware during the dream state.

TMJ is the commonly used abbreviation for temporomandibular joints and the problems associated with it are called TMD or temporomandibular joint dysfunction. This malady associated with TMJ is thought to be caused by displacement of the cartilage where the lower jaw connects to the skull causing strain and stretching of the associated sensory nerves.
TMJ is pain resulting from the wear and tear caused by overuse of the temporomandibular joint that you frequently use as compared to the other parts of the body. It is located in your jaw, a joint that connects the temporal bone with the mandible and you use it from eating, to biting to even clenching your teeth or even kissing. Stress, tension and worry to overuse, as each of these conditions can cause people to grind their teeth or clench their jaws excessively. Usually, teeth-clenching or jaw-cracking happens at night when the patient is asleep but there is more to teeth-clenching when you have TMJ problems.
One of the most usual side effects of clenching your teeth is chronic headaches, but since most headache sufferers don’t think they clench and doctors don’t make an evaluation, the link between them is never made. The pain is due to the tension and muscle tightness that occurs around the joint. Interestingly, even though your pain may be centered around the temporomandibular joint, tense muscles in other areas of your body may be pulling and tugging on muscles attached to the TMJ, actually causing the TMJ problem and the pain will run from your jaw and neck to other parts of the body.
Naturally, it is important to find the true source of the tension and relieve that source in order to get rid of the TMJ pain. There are many remedies for teeth grinding and some of the solution choices can include massage and other relaxation techniques to relieve stress on muscles. Muscle relaxants, night guards worn in the mouth, and heat and ice packs are some of the treatment options commonly recommended by TMJ experts.
Now, let’s talk about night-guards because so far, this is the common treatment that a TMJ expert can suggest to TMJ patients. So, are night guards really effective? Well, to some extent, they are, but only in a momentary basis. There was one TMJ sufferer who already torn 3 night guards because of her intense teeth-clenching at night and the worst thing is, her bedroom partner can’t seem to sleep because of the noise. He said he feels as if he is on a slow and noisy boat going all the way to China.
Night-guards actually look no more than a mouthpiece used by boxers to protect their teeth. Matter of fact, you can go to a sporting goods store and buy one there and it could cost between $4 to $20 but so far, no TMJ patient was satisfied by the temporary results that these mouthpieces can bring. If you want some sturdy ones, let your TMJ dentist recommend one for you but you know how much they could cost? They could cost up to $100 or more. And again, the results are just transitory.
How would you like to know some proper and effective TMJ exercises instead of using night-guards, submit yourself to other dental implants, surgery or even medications? They are expensive, temporary and too risky, for your health and your wallet’s health as well. Yes, there are available TMJ exercises that you can find especially here at Cyberspace. As a matter of fact, you can use this set of exercises anytime and anywhere for only 3 minutes each day.
This time, you might get rid of your TMJ problems forever and you just need to forget about other remedies. But as always, the decision lies in you. Just remember, whatever you choose, your top priority is your health and nothing more.
Natural Anxiety Treatments

Anyone who’s experienced an anxiety attack before knows just how scary they can be. People who suffer from an anxiety disorder, who have frequent panic attacks, also understand how debilitating they can become.
Panic and severe anxiety can result in a disruption of daily life that can lead to a downward spiral of isolation and depression. Modern medicine has created several drugs to control
anxiety disorders and depression. These drugs fall into several categories including MAOI’s
(Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) and SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors). SSRI’s such as Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, and Celexa are the most commonly prescribed.
While effective in most patients, antidepressant drugs usually come with a cost.
Antidepressants are powerful prescription drugs that cause negative side effects for many people who take them. Common side effects of SSRI’s include nausea, headaches, diarrhea, weight gain, sedation, and sexual side effects.
Antidepressants have even been linked to suicide in young patients. Prolonged usage of antidepressants frequently result in a higher drug tolerance in patients leading to increased dosages to receive the same desired effect. Further, there is a risk of addiction and frequent withdrawal problems associated with these antidepressants.
Fortunately, there are now effective natural anxiety treatment alternatives to antidepressants. They fall into two categories – cognitive behavioral therapy and natural dietary supplements.
Cognitive therapy involves the participation of a psychotherapist or psychiatrist who have one on one sessions with the patient. This approach focuses on altering the patient’s thinking patterns and developing coping mechanisms such as slow breathing techniques. Patients learn how to detect faulty fight-or-flight response mechanisms within the body that are triggered causing anxiety and panic attacks.
The second category of natural anxiety treatments are dietary supplements. Natural dietary
supplements offer effective treatment for anxiety and depression without the risk of serious side effects or possible addiction of antidepressants.
Natural herbal remedies have been used for centuries around the globe in many cultures to cure anxiety symptoms. There is now a growing trend towards more natural alternatives to powerful antidepressants. Natural herbs and vitamins can boost one’s overall immune and nervous system creating more resistance to anxiety. Further, select supplements found in nature can be very effective to treat anxiety and panic attack symptoms.
Since dietary supplements are not regulated by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) caution is recommended in selecting an effective natural anxiety supplement that works for you. Studies show that a combination or ‘blend’ of several anti-anxiety herbs and vitamins offers the most effective treatment results.

Massage therapy works to help different aspects of the physical system – the muscular, nervous, circulatory and immune systems.
Beside the physical benefits of massage therapy, the most important one is psychological; it has to do with the feel-good factor of intimate contact with another human being.
A full body massage is one of the ultimate forms of stress relief. A lot of persons who had a full body massage keep talking about how great the feel afterwards. The first thing that someone usually does after experiencing his or her first full body massage is book another full body massage! ADD and ADHD are growing concerns in children and adults alike. Unfortunately, for most people diagnosed with ADD the first course of action is a regimen of expensive prescription drugs that often mask the problem rather than correct it.
Some of these drugs are stimulants that can cause adverse behavioral reactions and most of them may not be needed. New studies show that herbal remedies for ADHD may be just as effective as prescription drugs and are much less likely to produce adverse effects.
So what kind of natural ADD/ADHD remedies are there? Of tested individuals who were diagnosed with one of these disorders, a large number showed a deficiency in key nutrients that a body needs to be healthy, including:
Magnesium – levels of Magnesium have been linked to a person’s distractibility…there are indications that a deficiency can cause someone to be distracted easily. Magnesium also plays a big role in sugar metabolism and gets depleted in the body whenever a person is under stress.
Iron – There may be a link between ADHD and iron deficiency. This is an especially important one to monitor in adult females, but deficiencies occur in both genders and all ages – in fact, an estimated 13% of all children ages 5-12 have a marked iron deficiency.
Copper and Zinc – These are paired because these two compete for absorption in the body so a proper balance has to be maintained. Both are needed in trace amounts, and both are often found to be deficient in people who are noticeably inattentive in school and at work.
Calcium – A calcium deficiency often causes irritability and inattentiveness, among other things, which can lead to an ADD or ADHD diagnosis.
Amino Acids – There are many amino acids responsible for proper brain function and that promote neurotransmitter activity. ADD has been directly linked to neurotransmitter deficiencies in the brain, so essential amino acids are even more important in the natural treatment of ADD and ADHD.
If you are interested in natural remedy for ADD and ADHD issues, the first place to start is a person’s diet. Avoid refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup and stimulants such as caffeine, but include plenty of dairy products or a non-dairy calcium supplement. A healthy diet will help ensure sufficient levels of many necessary nutrients, but likely not all of them.
Next, find a quality multi-vitamin that will provide many of the vitamins and trace minerals the body needs. Finally, even the best multi-vitamins may not have enough of nutrients that are deficient in people with ADD, so additional natural supplements may be needed.
There are several on the market including Listol, which contains many amino acids and other nutrients that have shown a likely link to ADD/ADHD and are often deficient in afflicted individuals; Synaptol, which includes ingredients that support mental clarity and improved brain function; and VAXA Attend, which contains essential vitamins and ingredients that have been shown to be effective against mental confusion.
Herbal remedies and dietary supplements of all kinds abound and these three are merely examples of some of the most popular and successful supplements on the market. The one that works best for you or your child will depend largely on exactly which deficiencies are present.
In short, a good diet of healthy food that is calcium-rich, a high-quality multivitamin and a good ADD/ADHD-specific supplement combine to produce what should be a very effective natural remedy for ADD and ADHD without having to resort to expensive and possibly harmful prescription drugs.
