The Hidden Salt In Your Diet

When one thinks of salt intake, all he or she is reminded of is the pinch of salt, which they add to the food, while cooking. But do you know that three quarters of the salt, that we consume, is already available in the food that we buy.
So the pinch of salt just comes up to a quarter amount of the total percentage of salt we consume. Now here are four reasons for why you should avoid salt.
Too much salt in the body will make the blood pressure rise. People with high blood pressure are capable of getting heart stroke or developing heart disease three times more than the people with normal blood pressure. Try to add less salt while cooking.
Pregnant women should go reduce their salt intake. Now the question arises when they will know how to reduce their intake?!
If your blood pressure shoots up, or if you have developed water retention problem, which is also known as edema in medical terms, or if you have started suffering from any type of kidney problems, then you should automatically reduce the salt intake.
Have you started noticing that you have been suffering from skin puffiness especially at the ankles and even around the eyes?! If yes, then the reason is excess intake of salt. It results in water retention.
Apart from the normal symptom of water retention, which is to start feeling bloated, you will start having that skin puffiness also. The expensive creams available in the market, which promises to reduce the puffiness won’t be of any use. All you have to do is reduce your salt intake, wait and watch.
